What Waypoint is

Waypoint is a private, invite-only job-search assistant operated by Daniel Brunsdon for friends and family. It is not a commercial service, has no advertising, and does not sell anything.

Information we collect

When you use Waypoint, we store:

  • Account basics — your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account when you sign in. We never see your Google password.
  • Career information you provide — resumes or LinkedIn exports you upload, text you paste, answers you give in the guided interview, and edits you make to your profile or documents.
  • Job descriptions you paste or link for analysis.
  • Generated content — the profiles, analyses, resumes, cover letters, and interview guides the app creates for you, including revision history.
  • Basic usage records — AI token counts per account, used to keep costs sane. No advertising trackers, no analytics cookies.

How your information is used

Your career information is used for exactly one purpose: powering the features you ask for — building your profile, scoring job fit, and generating application documents. Your documents and answers are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to provide these features; Anthropic does not train models on this API data. Files and data are stored in a Neon (Postgres) database and the app is hosted on Vercel.

Who can see your data

Only you. Every profile, job, and document is scoped to your account — other Waypoint users can never view your information. The operator (Daniel) has administrative database access for maintenance and support, and can see aggregate usage counts, but does not browse or share user content. We never sell data or share it with third parties beyond the service providers named above.

Your choices

  • You can edit or remove any profile information in the app.
  • You can delete jobs and their documents in the app.
  • To delete your account and all associated data entirely, email dan.brunsdon@gmail.com — it will be removed promptly and permanently.

Cookies

Waypoint uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in, plus a local preference for light/dark theme. Nothing else.

Changes & contact
